Next week on Talking Horses, we will not have a tipping competition but the fourth annual Christmas Horse Racing Quiz of the Year will take place at 3pm on Monday. You can see last year's one here. In a slight twist, we'll be posting all the questions at once (at 3pm), to minimise the advantage of those with faster connections. After that, it's just a scramble to see who can be first with the most correct answers.
This week's prize is a DVD of 'Punchestown - Seeing Out The Distance', a lovingly made 78-minute documentary on the history of the Irish track's spring festival, with contributions from many famous faces from today's game (as well as a couple of journalists you may recognise). If you don't win, you can buy a copy here.
As ever, our champion will be the tipster who returns the best profit to notional level stakes of £1 at starting price on our nominated races, of which there will be three each day up until Friday. Non-runners count as losers. If you have not joined in so far this week, you are welcome to do so today but you will start on -12.
In the event of a tie at the end of the week, the winner will be the tipster who, from among those tied on the highest score, posted their tips earliest on the final day.
